Stainless Steel Sample Bucket.

    Protect the sample after collection

A representative sample only remains useful if it is handled correctly after collection. The Stainless Steel Sample Bucket (SSB) from M&W JAWO Sampling is a robust sample container for receiving, storing and moving sampled material in industrial sampling and sample preparation workflows.

The SSB is available as a standard version with lid and can be customised for specific handling requirements with options such as wheels, airtight lid, outlet chute and Radio Frequency Identification (RFID). Typical volumes are 6 L, 10 L and 15 L, and the bucket can also be customised to match the handling route, material characteristics and sampling system layout.

    What does it do?

The SSB receives and holds sampled material after it has been collected by the sampling system. It supports the physical step between sample collection, internal transport, sample preparation and laboratory analysis.

A sample bucket is an important part of the sampling chain. Automated sampling systems are designed to collect representative increments from the material stream, but the sample can still lose value after collection if it is exposed to contamination, moisture change, wrong identification, sample loss or inconsistent handling. The SSB supports controlled sample handling where cleanability, durability and traceability matter.

    What’s the benefit?

    FeatureWhat it meansBenefit
Crack- and crevice-free designReduces areas where residual material can remain after emptying or cleaning.Helps reduce contamination risk between samples and supports more reliable sample handling.
Stainless/acid-proof steelAvailable in EN 1.4301 and EN 1.4401.Supports demanding industrial environments where durability and material compatibility matter.
TIG-welded constructionProvides a controlled welded design for industrial use.Supports long service life and predictable handling in daily operation.
Customised configurationCan be supplied with wheels, airtight lid, outlet chute or other adaptations.Allows the bucket to fit the sampling system instead of forcing operators to adapt the process.
RFID optionElectronic identification can be added to tag the bucket.Supports traceability, correct handling and reduced risk of sample mix-ups.

    How does it do it?

The SSB uses stainless/acid-proof steel, controlled TIG welding and a crack- and crevice-free construction to support robust and cleanable sample handling. Surface finish can be adapted depending on the application, including 2B cold-rolled finish, sanding to the required grit size, electro-polishing or glass-bead blasting.

Where required, the bucket can be configured for the actual sampling system instead of being treated as a generic container. RFID identification can be added to connect the physical bucket to the correct sample, batch, line, shift or laboratory workflow. In sampling operations where several buckets are handled at the same time, this can reduce the risk of manual errors and improve traceability.

    Which industries use it?

The SSB is relevant for industrial sampling systems where the collected sample must be handled in a controlled, durable and cleanable container. It is especially relevant in Mining, Metals & Minerals Processing, Cement, Fertilizers, Chemicals and Energy & Power Generation. It may also be relevant in Precious & Base Metals Recycling, Laboratory & Research and selected Food & Feed applications, depending on material compatibility, cleaning requirements and the required bucket configuration.

IndustryTypical relevance for Stainless Steel Bucket
MiningRobust handling of abrasive ores, concentrates, coal and similar bulk materials.
Metals & Minerals ProcessingControlled sample handling between production, preparation and laboratory analysis.
CementDurable handling of clinker, cement, raw meal, lime and other dusty or abrasive materials.
FertilizersControlled handling of granules, powders and chemically active materials.
ChemicalsCleanable handling where material compatibility and controlled workflows are important.
Energy & Power GenerationSample handling for coal, coke, petcoke, ash and biomass-related applications.
Precious & Base Metals RecyclingRelevant where material value, contamination risk and traceability requirements are high.
Laboratory & ResearchRelevant where durable, cleanable containers are required in controlled sample workflows.
Food & FeedRelevant only where stainless steel handling, cleaning requirements and material-contact conditions are suitable.

Which materials is it used for?

The SSB can be used in sampling workflows for a wide range of dry bulk materials where a robust and cleanable sample container is required. Final suitability depends on the material, sample volume, cleaning requirements, temperature, moisture, abrasiveness and the required handling route.

Where does it fit in the system?

The SSB is often used as part of a larger M&W JAWO Sampling system. In systems where sampled material must be split or directed into different sample routes, the bucket may be used together with the Diverter Gate (DG) or the Dual Splitter (DS).

For complete sampling-system context, the SSB can also be positioned within the Bucket Sampling Solution, where sampled material may pass through equipment such as a bucket sampler, screw conveyor, rotary tube divider, diverter gate, dual splitter and sample container route.

Need a bucket that fits the system?

The right sample bucket should fit the sampling process, not just the shelf. Contact M&W JAWO Sampling if you need a stainless steel sample bucket configured for your material, sampling system and handling requirements.
