Pulverised Fuel Sampler Automatic BIO (PFSA-B).

What’s the benefit?

  • The PFSA-B enables measurements and calculations of the biofuel mass-flow rate in the pipes connecting to the burners and furnace, which allows the operator to optimise the combustion process, thus reducing emissions and fuel consumption.
  • The PFSA-B provides a representative sample inspired by ISO 9931 and improved further.
  • It is a cost-efficient, portable equipment, which is easy to use and fast to install, with no comprehensive calibration or setup.
  • A single instrument can be used in numerous pipes to calculate the absolute and relative fuel mass-flows of each individual pipe.
  • The PFSA-B automatically collects physical samples allowing for particle size analysis used for classifier optimisation and determining general state of the mill as well as determining the fuel properties of the biomass going into the furnace.
  • The PFSA-B ensures a dustless insertion in the pipe when used together with the Dustless Connector (DuC) or Dustless Connector Snap Lock (DuC-SL).
  • With the DAPL an error-free and time-saving exchange of data can be achieved via Bluetooth.

What does it do?

The Pulverised Fuel Sampler Automatic BIO (PFSA-B) is a portable unit with automatic operation for extraction of a representative physical sample of pulverized biomass from the full cross section of a fuel pipe, inspired by ISO 9931 and improved further.

The PFSA-B is primarily used to determine the fuel mass-flow rate of biomass in the pipes fed to the burners and furnace.

For optimal measurements, the PFSA-B should be used together with a M&W Dirty Air Pitot Laser (DAPL) to ensure a fully isokinetic sample. By using the DAPL the PFSA-B can receive data directly via Bluetooth.

How does it do it?

The Pulverized Fuel Sampler Automatic BIO (PFSA-B) automatically extracts a representative sample of pulverized biomass fuel from the full cross section of the fuel pipe enabling measurements and calculation of the biofuel mass-flow rate in the pipes connecting to the burners. This allows the operator to optimise the combustion process, thus reducing emissions and fuel consumption.
