Shah Deniz 2 is located in the Caspian Sea, Azerbaijan. It is one of the largest energy projects in the world. The field was discovered in 1999.

At its peak, the Shah Deniz 2 is expected to produce 16 Bcm per year. The project includes 26 wells, 500 km pipeline and two new platforms that are linked by a bridge. In 2020 it will begin to deliver gas to parts of Europe, which will be the first time there is gas directly delivered from the Caspian Sea to Europe.

Owners are BP and Shah Deniz.
