Espoir Oil and Gas Field Development Project – 2017 .
The Espoir field is located 19 km offshore south of Jacqueville at depths ranging from 100-600m. It has an estimated 180 billion cubic feet of natural gas as well as 93 million barrels of oil in recoverable reserves.
Production started in 2002 and is expected to continue until 2022. The field only became commercially viable as a result of improvements in modern drilling and production techniques.
Owners are Canadian Natural, Petroci Holding and Tullow Cote d’Ivoire
