The Convection of Nitrogen and Helium with HTS (CvN2HeHTS) model builds upon the CvHeHTS architecture by introducing liquid nitrogen (LN2) to actively cool the upper resistive portion of the lead (Section 1).

When facility design specifications permit the integration of LN2 as a supplementary coolant for the copper segment, the thermal heat load on the lower HTS section is minimized, significantly reducing overall liquid helium consumption.

This highly efficient, dual-coolant design is optimized for heavy-duty applications operating between 10 kA and 70 kA.
